How It Started
Athea Javed has been making tasbeehs for over 20 years. What began as a personal practice — stringing beads as an act of devotion — slowly became something people asked her to do for them. A name added here. A pendant chosen there. Word spread the way it always does in communities built on trust.
In 2018, she brought the work online through Etsy. Not to scale it into something unrecognisable, but to reach people who needed something made with care and couldn't find it. The same hands that made tasbeehs before the shop opened still make every single one today.
Over 3,200 pieces later, the process has not changed. Each order is a new beginning. Each name is added with the same attention as the first. That is not a marketing line — it is simply the only way Athea knows how to work.

What Drives the Work
Nothing here is mass-produced. Every tasbeeh is assembled to order — not pulled from a shelf, not rushed through a line. When you order, Athea begins.

The Process

Each batch of beads is chosen for consistency in size, weight, and finish. No two runs are identical — Athea sources materials that hold up to daily use.

Beads are individually threaded and knotted by hand. The spacing, tension, and feel of the finished piece all come from years of practice — not machinery.

Your name or word is added by hand, one letter at a time. Athea checks every character before moving on. It is slow work, done on purpose.

Each piece is wrapped, paired with a handwritten card in Athea's own handwriting, and dispatched the same day the order is placed.
